About comprehensible input in English

What is comprehensible input?

Comprehensible input is language you can mostly understand, with a small amount that is new. The idea is often associated with linguist Stephen Krashen, who argued that people acquire language best by understanding meaningful messages rather than just memorizing rules. That is why Reelang focuses on real English you can follow now, while still stretching your listening.

Why real reels, not textbook dialogues

Textbook English is often cleaner and slower than real speech. Native speakers interrupt themselves, contract words, skip sounds, and speak differently depending on context and accent. Reelang uses real short-form videos from native speakers so you can train your ear on the kind of English people actually use.

How to use this library

Start with your level, then choose a listening difficulty that feels manageable. From there, browse by grammar, topic, or accent depending on what you want to practice. Use grammar when you want to focus on a structure, accents when you want exposure to different kinds of English, and topics when you want content you actually care about.
