Your first words from real people

A1 Beginner English

Basic greetings, simple questions, and everyday phrases — all from real native speakers, not textbook actors. 361 reels and counting.

A1 is the first foothold. At this level you recognise greetings, names, numbers, and the most common everyday phrases — when they're delivered slowly and clearly. Listening to real speakers, rather than textbook actors, is harder, but it's the only way to start training your ear for natural pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm. Don't try to catch every word. Pick a clip, listen for the nouns and verbs you already know, and let the rest wash over you. Replay it twice — first without subtitles, then with. The goal at A1 isn't full comprehension yet; it's familiarity. Start treating the language as sound, not just text on a page.
