過去の助動詞
「I must have lost it」（過去の推量）、「she could have called」（実現しなかった可能性）、「they might have already left」（過去の推測）、「it shouldn't have been done」（批判）。実際の会話では「have」はほぼ必ず「've」に縮まり、「should've」「could've」「must've」は「of」と発音がとても近いため、ネイティブでも「should of」と書き間違えることがあります。過去の助動詞は学習者にとって特に難しい分野のひとつですが、日常会話では非常によく使われます。
