Practice listening in Chinese
Fast, real talk, just like real life
C1 Advanced Chinese
Fast and real, with nothing planned. Short forms and quick talk are now normal.
C1 is fast, real talk with nothing planned. People don't slow down for you. Words run together. People also stop, start again, or say "um" a lot. Even this can carry meaning. The work here isn't how you build sentences or new words. It's training your ear for fast, real talk: short words and sounds that run together. Get used to not understanding everything the first time. Real people don't either. They guess the rest from what came before. Pick videos that feel a little too fast. Watch them twice: once for the main idea, once to hear which sounds run together. At C1, you stop turning words into your own language in your head. You start to just listen and understand.
Reelang’s Chinese video feed is a TikTok-style feed of real videos from native Chinese speakers, graded by level and speaking speed and tagged by accent. It learns from how you watch and keeps serving clips at your level.
