Korean listening speed

120-160 words a minute

Medium speed Korean

Real Korean at daily speed, where words join together and endings change.

Korean at normal speed has two ways of talking: a friend way, and a kind way for other people. People who talk fast often make words shorter, like 그러면 becoming 그럼. Small words like 은/는 can disappear too. Sounds also join together, so 한국어 can sound like 한구거. Short words like 그, 뭐, 아니, 음 show that someone is thinking or changing what they say. Cooking videos and TV shows are good for this level. You can also see what is happening, not just hear it. Try not to use subtitles the first time. Listen for the end of the sentence. It tells you the time and how kind the person is being. This is also how Korean sounds in the TOPIK II listening test.

Reelang’s Korean video feed is a TikTok-style feed of real videos from native Korean speakers, graded by level and speaking speed and tagged by accent. It learns from how you watch and keeps serving clips at your level.
