Slow speed Norwegian

Real Norwegian at slow speed. Slow enough that you can hear every word well.

At slow speed, you can hear small parts of Norwegian words well. Norwegian adds 'the' to the end of a word: hus becomes huset, bil becomes bilen. Every word also has a type: en, ei, or et. This changes how other words near it end. Norwegian words also go up and down in sound. This can change the meaning: bønder (farmers) and bønner (beans) sound almost the same, but not quite. Videos for children and people just starting are slow enough to hear all this. You can also hear small sound differences, like tak (roof) and takk (thanks). The up-and-down sound is easiest to hear at slow speed. Watch once for the word endings. Watch again for the small sounds. Then watch a third time for the up-and-down sound.

Reelang’s Norwegian video feed is a TikTok-style feed of real videos from native Norwegian speakers, graded by level and speaking speed and tagged by accent. It learns from how you watch and keeps serving clips at your level.
