Watching a Kannada video with Smart Subtitles on, the words worth learning first stand out. An underline shows how common each word is, and a tap tells you what it means in that exact sentence. The ranking comes from recorded everyday Kannada conversations and modern Kannada web text, so ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ and ಧನ್ಯವಾದ count as everyday words.
Every form of a word shares one rank: ಮಾಡ್ತಾರೆ and ಮಾಡೋದು both count as ಮಾಡು, and ಮನೆಗೆ and ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ count as ಮನೆ. And the Words tab on your Progress screen now shows how many of the most common Kannada words you have come across.
