Smart Subtitles for Bulgarian
Live for everyone, right now.
Watching a Bulgarian video with Smart Subtitles on, the words worth learning first stand out. An underline shows how common each word is, and a tap tells you what it means in that exact sentence and how high it ranks among the most common words in Bulgarian. Казах, каза and кажи all count as the same word, so a verb doesn't look rare just because you met it in a less common form.
Bulgarian changes the ending of most words and even adds "the" to the end of them (книга, книгата), so a list that counts each form on its own makes everyday words look rarer than they are. We tried several word lists against the subtitles of our Bulgarian videos and ended up combining two: one built from film and TV subtitles, for how people really talk, and one from the Bulgarian web, for the words you hear in Bulgaria itself.
