The words are not simpler. But going slow gives your ears more time. Dutch puts a lot into each sentence. Going slow helps you hear how the parts fit together. Pick videos about things you know, like daily life, food, or family. First watch with no subtitles. Then watch again with subtitles. Then watch a third time with no subtitles.
