Medium clips run between 120 and 160 words per minute — the natural rhythm of relaxed everyday conversation. Speakers don't slow down for learners, but they're also not racing. You'll hear normal contractions, mild reductions, and the usual filler that real speech is full of. This is the sweet-spot bucket for intermediate listeners: enough challenge that you have to work, not so much that you give up halfway through. Treat Medium as comprehension stamina training. Pick a clip, watch it through without pausing, then go back to anything you missed. Resist the urge to switch on subtitles for the first pass. The goal is letting your ear do the heavy lifting — the moment you read instead of listen, the practice stops working.
