Medium speed German

Real German is fast: about 120 to 160 words a minute. People use short forms, like haste for hast du. German starts to sound like real language, not just rules from a book. Do not use subtitles first. Listen first, and try to understand as much as you can. Then watch again to catch what you missed. Videos about food, work, and daily life are easier, because you already know many of these words. This speed is close to the listening part of the Goethe and TestDaF tests. So this practice also helps you get ready for those tests.
