Follow real conversations end-to-end

B1 Intermediate Finnish

Familiar topics at a natural pace: opinions, stories, and explanations from real people talking about their lives.

B1 is the threshold where listening starts to feel useful instead of effortful. You can follow the main thread of a real conversation (someone telling a story about their job, explaining their opinion on a film, describing a trip) even when individual words slip past. The trick at this level is to stop pausing every time you miss something. Native speakers produce chunks of speech faster than you can analyse them, so you have to train tolerance for ambiguity: hold the gist in your head and let the missed bits resolve later in context. Choose clips a touch above your comfort zone. Watch once for the gist, once for detail. Only note down words that genuinely block comprehension.

Reelang’s Finnish video feed is a TikTok-style feed of real videos from native Finnish speakers, graded by level and speaking speed and tagged by accent. It learns from how you watch and keeps serving clips at your level.
