一见钟情 (yījiànzhōngqíng) means love at first sight. It breaks into 一见 (yī jiàn, “one glance”) and 钟情 (zhōngqíng, “to pour one’s feelings into” — 钟 here means “to concentrate or focus deeply”). In the clip a girlfriend pretends to be a stranger and asks her boyfriend if she can add him on WeChat. He says yes immediately, which she spins into a declaration: 我永远都会对你一见钟情 — “I will always fall for you at first sight” — every time she sees him.
The chengyu captures the instantaneous, involuntary quality of attraction. The character 钟 (zhōng) also means “bell” or “clock,” but in 钟情 it carries the classical sense of “to concentrate all feeling on one person.” You can use the idiom beyond romance: 我一见钟情于这座城市 means “I fell in love with this city the moment I saw it.” The clip’s setup — girlfriend testing boyfriend — is a popular social media format, and the boyfriend’s non-romantic reading of the whole scenario (he just thought a stranger was talking to him) is the payoff that makes the idiom land.
