A2 Russian listening practice · Standard Russian · Picked for people who know a little
Счастливо! is a warm, casual goodbye, literally “happily,” from счастье, “happiness.” It’s short for wishing someone well on their way, like “take care!” or “all the best!” Say it to a friend, a neighbour or a stranger you’ve just had a nice moment with. The т in счастливо is silent: “shchas-LEE-va.”
Its fuller relatives are счастливого пути! (“have a good trip!”) and всего доброго! (“all the best”). The clip is full of casual speech: сфоткаю (“I’ll snap a pic”), офигенная фотка, круто. After the artist hands over the painting, he signs off with всё, счастливо.
