Working From Home Trends Across Australia

What does “life admin” mean in English?
Life admin is the organising side of your personal life: booking a doctor, sorting bills, waiting for a delivery, picking up a child from school. It is not cleaning or cooking — those are household chores. Life admin is the planning and admin stuff that only you can do. The phrase feels natural in British and Australian English and is spreading to other varieties.
In the clip, someone explains why working from home suits them: “Also, just life admin, not having to take a day off to get a fridge delivered. For the kids, collect the kid at school.” The fridge delivery says it all — you stay home, you sign for it, and you keep your annual leave. More examples: making a dentist appointment on your lunch break, renewing your car registration online, or calling your bank to fix a billing mistake. People say “doing life admin” or “I need to catch up on life admin.” Stress falls on the first word: LIFE admin.
