What is comprehensible input?
Comprehensible input is language you can mostly follow, with a small amount that is still new. The idea is often associated with Stephen Krashen: people acquire language by understanding meaningful messages, not only by memorizing rules in isolation. Marathi benefits from it because the written form sits quite separate from how Marathi sounds in Mumbai traffic. Both are real, but learners mostly meet only one.
Why real reels, not textbook dialogues
Spoken Marathi moves. Verb endings compress, casual vocabulary borrows liberally from Hindi and English, and whole phrases slip into those languages without flagging it. A clip from Pune does not sound quite like a clip from Mumbai, and neither sounds like a textbook dialogue.
