What does “take a nap” mean in English?
To take a nap means to sleep for a short time. It is not your long sleep at night. It is a small sleep, often in the day. Maybe you take a nap for fifteen minutes after lunch. Notice the verb: you do not make a nap or do a nap. You take a nap. This is the normal way to say it. After a nap, you feel fresh and ready again.
In the clip one person says: “Sometimes I take a nap. You take a nap in the morning? Just fifteen minutes.” You can also say “have a nap” in British English. A very short nap is sometimes called a power nap or a catnap.
