What is the difference between cook and bake?
To bake means to make food in the oven. You bake cakes, cookies, and bread. The oven gives slow, dry heat. “Cook” is the big word for making any food hot — on the stove or in the oven. So baking is one kind of cooking. When you put a cake in the oven, you bake it. You do not say “cook a cake”.
In the clip the speaker shows the oven and says, “You can bake in the oven.” One person says, “I like to bake. I like to make cake and cookies.” So if it goes in the oven and it is sweet, you bake it.
