What does “с собой” mean in Russian?

Order coffee in a Russian cafe and the phrase you need is с собой, пожалуйста — “to go, please.” Literally it means “with yourself,” because you’re taking the drink along with you rather than sitting down. That unexpected literal meaning also makes it sticky: it’s the instrumental form of себя, the reflexive pronoun, so knowing this phrase quietly previews one of Russian’s most useful grammar words.
