Frases básicas de reacción en español

What does “qué miedo” mean in Spanish?
Qué miedo means “How scary!” It uses one of the most useful beginner patterns in Spanish: ¡Qué + word!, which turns almost anything into a reaction. Miedo is really the noun “fear,” so word for word it is “what fear,” but Spanish speakers use it to mean “how scary.” Learn the pattern once and you can react to almost anything on the spot.
The same shape gives you ¡Qué suerte! (“How lucky!”), ¡Qué divertido! (“How fun!”), and ¡Qué miedo! — all in this clip. Swap the last word and you have a new reaction: ¡Qué frío! (“So cold!”), ¡Qué rico! (“So tasty!”).
