Trabajo en oficina y cómo vas al trabajo
A1 Spanish listening practice · Spanish · Curated for beginners
How do you say “go by train” or “by car” in Spanish?
To say how you travel, Spanish uses ir en + the vehicle: voy en tren (“I go by train”), voy en coche (“I go by car”). Beginners expect a word for “by,” but Spanish just uses en (“in/on”). One common exception: on foot is a pie, not en pie. So you can mix and match: en autobús, en bici, en metro, but a pie.
Here coche is the Spain word for “car”; much of Latin America says carro or auto instead. The clip: A veces voy en tren a mi oficina y a veces voy en coche (“Sometimes I go to my office by train and sometimes by car”).
