What is the difference between “billetera” and “monedero” in Spanish?

Billetera is a wallet — the kind you keep paper money in. The trick is in the word: billete means “banknote,” so a billetera is “the bill holder.” Its partner monedero comes from moneda (“coin”), so a monedero is a coin purse. Learn the two base words and you instantly know which is which, instead of guessing.
