What does “batear” mean in Mexican slang?
Beyond its baseball meaning, batear is Mexican slang for rejecting or brushing someone off, especially a romantic advance: me bateó means “she shot me down.” The image is a batter swatting the pitch away. In the clip, me batea sin piedad — “she rejects me without mercy” — is exactly how a hopeful suitor describes being knocked back flat.
It also covers being left on read: you message someone and te batean (they ignore you).
