Přání k Honzovým narozeninám a pokračování pořadu

Why is “Honza” the most Czech of all Czech names?
Honza is the standard Czech nickname for Jan (John), but it’s much more than a casual short form. Honza is the everyman hero of Czech fairy tales, the simple country boy who outsmarts kings and dragons through pluck and luck. Calling someone “Honza” carries that fairy-tale warmth: it’s playful, familiar, and a touch protective. In Czech sitcoms, sports broadcasts, and family conversation, Honza signals affection in a way that the formal Jan never does.
This clip is a birthday well-wish to a TV-show host named Jan, called Honzovi throughout. The wishes themselves follow the classic Czech formula: hodně zdraví, štěstí, krásné společné roky (“lots of health, happiness, wonderful years together”).
