What does “gracias por parirme” mean in Spanish?
In this Mother’s Day message, she stacks her thank-yous: “gracias por parirme, gracias por enseñarme.” Parir is the plain, bodily verb for giving birth, used for people and animals alike. The softer, poetic choice is dar a luz, “to give light.” She picks the rawer word on purpose — it makes the line feel real and physical, not polished, right at the most loving moment of the whole message.
