Un día completo en Xcaret, el parque acuático

What does “imperdible” mean in Spanish?
An imperdible is a “must-see” — something you can’t afford to miss. Take it apart and it’s wonderfully logical: im- (not) + perder (to lose / miss) + -ible (able to be), so it literally means “un-miss-able.” You’ll see it all over travel posts and guidebooks: un imperdible de la ciudad is a can’t-miss spot, and un lugar imperdible means “an unmissable place.”
Here the guide says un imperdible de Xcaret es el acuario — “a must-see at Xcaret is the aquarium.” One fun twist: in much of Latin America the same word imperdible is also the noun for a safety pin — the pin you “can’t lose” because it locks shut. Same logic, two everyday meanings.
